Blackout Art Society Stand Festival 2023

Mark your calendars and stay tuned for the upcoming STAND Festival this November! Dedicated to uplifting and amplifying the voices of immigrant and refugee artists, our festival is more than just a showcase—it's a vibrant platform where narratives are shared, connections are made, and artistry thrives. Alongside captivating performances, we're excited to offer a series of workshops that delve deeper into the creative processes, offering attendees a chance to learn, engage, and be part of the artistic journey. Their stories, dreams, and journeys will come alive both on stage and through hands-on experiences, presenting a tapestry of perspectives that promise to inspire, challenge, and unite us. Keep an eye out for more details, and get ready to immerse yourself in the transformative power of art that transcends borders and boundaries.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour the ancient narratives of this land. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from the stories that this land holds.
