Tooska Vaghedi 

Writer/Director/Producer

 

Tooska is a Vancouver based puppetry artist. She has her bachelors in puppetry  and masters in animation from Tehran faculty of Fine arts. Her theatre credits include producing My little dream, Spanish Stories, Chehlgis,  & The girl who morphed to a mouse. In her free time, Tooska loves writing and biking. Her favorite movie is Being John Malkovich.

Alex Shirdel

PERFORMER/PUPPETEER

 

Alex is an actor, singer, assistant director and puppeteer. He performed in shows like the book of theatre ( Divaan e Theatraal) , and Faust. Alex has his M.A in English literature from Iran. He loves watching movies, reading and hiking. In Mayor’s Dilemma, Alex will be playing Sam the mayor.

 

 

 

 

Sarvin Esmaeili

PERFORMER/PUPPETEER/ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

 

Sarv/سروین is a bilingual multidisciplinary theater artist  with a focus on acting and creating shows/spaces that support  the collective healing practice of our community. Sarvin has written and performed shows at Rumble,Arts Club’s LEAP,  Frank Theatre’s Telling it Bent & Zee Zee Theatre’s virtual humanity.

When سروین needs a break, they drum and dance at a full moon ceremony with their soul family. Currently, Sarv is a festival coordinator of Blackout Theatre’s STAND festival.In November, come check out a festival supporting immigrant and refugee artists. Sarvin is a graduate of Studio 58’s acting program. Sarv is very appreciative of the opportunity to work with many beautiful farsi-speaker artists.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour the ancient narratives of this land. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. 

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from the stories that this land holds.
