I’m Sunny Chen AKA Sad China, an interdisciplinary artist who works with music, media, and mental health. My ancestors guide me to end a cycle of intergenerational trauma within my family. I'm a queer, nonbinary settler on unceded lands belonging to Katzie, Kwantlen, Matsqui, and Semiahmoo Nations (“Surrey” and “Langley”). Born in Nanjing, China, in the mid-90s, my ancestors are from Sichuan and Hubei. My original dramedy stageplay End of a Cycle features original music by x/o, Devours, Sad China, and desire process.
