Call for Artists:
STAND Festival 2024
Blackout Art Society is thrilled to announce the call for artists to participate in STAND Festival 2024!
Scheduled to unfold from November 2-12, 2024, this distinctive festival will span three venues in both North Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver. We welcome submissions from immigrant and refugee artists in theatre, music, dance, and live interactive performances to showcase their talents.
In addition to captivating performances, the festival will feature an art exhibition and knowledge-sharing workshops, fostering collaboration and growth within the artistic community.
Submission Deadline: March 1st, 2024
Who We’re Seeking:
To be considered as part of the STAND artists, you should be at least in one of the below categories:

Immigrant or refugee to Canada

The theme of your project related to immigration
What We're Seeking:
Ready to show: Immersive and thought-provoking works in theatre, music, Interactive Performances, and dance that reflect immigrant and refugee artists' rich diversity and experiences.
Works in Progress: Projects in theatre, music, and dance in the early stage of development.
Exhibition: Artists showcase their paintings or photographic art pieces in a gallery during the festival.
Workshop Proposals: Engaging sessions provide valuable insights, skills, keynote addresses, and knowledge-sharing within theatre, music, dance, and visual arts.
Artists benefits:

• Full day of tech time in the venue
• Technical director and stage manager
• Box office ticketing support and Front-of-House staff
• Basic publicity
• 70% of net Box Office revenues
• A secured spot for the show at STAND Festival 2024
How to Submit Applications:
Interested artists from various fields are invited to submit their proposals by March 1st, 2024, 4 pm (PST), by filling out the form below.
