Fame Art Group was funded by Fereshteh Zakery and initially formed to gather the fragmented community through the medium of dance in 2014. Fereshteh has more than 20 years’ experience for being an energetic dance instructor, choreographer and performer for hundreds of festivals, concerts and events. She has the experience of being a member of the board of directors of the Evergreen Cultural Center, and a member of the Multiculturalism Advisory Committee in the City of Coquitlam for the fourth consecutive term. And she is also certified Yoga instructor.

Fame Art Dance Productions is the creative factory of professional Persian Dance productions. We offer a collection of professional Persian Dance shows, ready to bring a unique addition to the festivals. We look at dancing as an integral way to experience unity. Iranian Dances are dance styles indigenous to Iran. Genres of dance in Iran vary depending on the area, culture, and language of the local people, and can range from sophisticated reconstructions of refined court dances to energetic folk dances. The population of Iran includes many ethnicities, such as Kurds and Azerbaijani peoples, in addition to numerous Iranian tribal groups which can be found within the borders of modern-day Iran.

Fame Art Group brings a creation of combined Tradition Iranian Dance moves with Sama. Sama is a Sufi ceremony performance and means "listening". These performances often include singing, playing instruments, dancing, recitation of poetry and prayers, wearing symbolic attire, and other rituals. Sama is a particularly popular form of worship in Sufism. The Sama represents a mystical journey of human's spiritual ascent through mind and love to perfection. Turning towards the truth, the follower grows through love, deserts the ego, finds the truth and arrives at perfection. Dancer then returns from this spiritual journey as an individual who has reached maturity and a greater perfection.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour the ancient narratives of this land. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from the stories that this land holds.
