Erin Macklem
After 25 years working in professional theatre as a costume designer, playwright and administrator, Erin Macklem joined the team of Program Advisors at the BC Arts Council in 2018 and currently facilitates the Professional Arts Training and Early Career Development programs. She has a passion for outreach and engagement and is excited to recently add the role of Outreach Coordinator to her work. Erin is a member
of the Métis Nation of BC and the Métis Nation of Greater Victoria. She strives to bring this cultural lens to her work, while being conscious of the white skin privilege afforded her by her father’s Irish and English ancestors.

In the spirit of storytelling, we pause to honour the ancient narratives of this land. We stand upon the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Just as we celebrate the diverse voices of immigrant and refugee artists, we recognize the First Peoples who have woven this place's first and enduring tales. Their stories are a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of community. As we come together from many corners of the world, may we always remember, respect, and learn from the stories that this land holds.
